Together with many other helpers, we are able to evacuate people from war zones on a regular basis right now. In the last 3 weeks we were able to save about 2400 people. We are overwhelmed and encouraged by the helpers who have given up a lot to help here on the ground. And from your support. With your money we can buy cars that we use to rescue people from war zones. Because it is so dangerous to drive on the partially closed or destroyed roads, cars are repeatedly damaged. Thank goodness no people have been injured so far.
This week we were again able to participate in a large evacuation with various relief organizations. In total, we were able to rescue 784 people from the war zone and bring them to rehabilitation centers. We are very grateful that there were no incidents and everything went safely. Thank you for your support in making such evacuations possible. The people of Ukraine continue to depend on our help. Today we met with Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshuk. This meeting was about getting a better understanding of the current situation of the people on the front lines, as well as their acute needs. As Haus der Hoffnung e.V., we have been working for the people on the ground since the beginning of the war. In doing so, we bring children and families from war zones to safety and then aim to provide them with holistic care with reintegration. For the construction of further rehabilitation centers as well as a system for quick coordination of evacuations and relief transports, we need your financial support! To this end, we currently see a funding requirement of $10 million to ensure sustainable aid for the people before the winter. Thank you for your support, you give new hope to many people! The next project we visited is in Kharkiv. The city was particularly hard fought, the traces of devastation are serious. The city was liberated, but the need is still great. Many people live in apartment blocks without electricity and water. A local church cares for hundreds of needy people every day, they also go to people who are no longer mobile and do very important work. Locally, we have been looking for ways to support this project. The people of Ukraine continue to depend on our help. For the past few weeks, one of our teams has been near the front lines evacuating people from the partially destroyed areas. Families with children in particular need help when fleeing, but addicts have also often not yet managed to escape.
